Chelsea have told Callum Hudson-Odoi he must stay this summer even if he refuses to sign a new contract, reports claim. The Blues fought off several bids from Bayern Munich in January, despite the 18-year-old submitting a transfer request, but they are yet to convince him to stay beyond this season.Hudson-Odoi reportedly wants to leave Stamford Bridge1
Hudson-Odoi reportedly wants to leave Stamford Bridge
According to The Times, the winger is even more determined to leave Stamford Bridge after being called up to the England senior squad and Manchester United are planning to battle Bayern for the starlet’s signature. However, the Blues will not sell their academy graduate even if it means rejecting a significant transfer fee and waiting for his contract to run down.Hudson-Odoi, who is currently valued at around 40million, will be out of contract in the summer of 2020. If Chelsea fail to agree fresh terms, he will become available on a free transfer and the club will only be entitled to a compensation fee.Hudson-Odoi is yet to start a Premier League match for Chelsea, with his opportunities restricted to Europa League and domestic cup games. The club are desperate for him to stay, especially given their two-window transfer ban and the potential departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.

Chelsea have offered the teenager a five-year deal worth 80,000-a-week, but they are reportedly pessimistic about the chances of it being signed.Hudson-Odoi’s stock has risen following an impressive full debut for England during the 5-1 victory in Montenegro. He was a constant threat throughout and provided an assist, however his performance was overshadowed by foul racist abuse from home supporters in Podgorica.
