The Shrimpers’ -10 goal difference is far better than the majority of their relegation rivals, however, with all four teams below Southend recording a differential of -19 or larger.Southend have seven matches remaining before the end of the season, including trips to bottom four sides Walsall and Rochdale.Duncan will begin his reign as interim manager this Saturday with the visit of Shrewsbury – who are one point and one place above Southend in the League One table – to Roots Hall.
